Is your food business ready for the changes to country of origin food labelling?

The Australian Government is implementing a new system to deliver clearer and more consistent country of origin food labels.

The reforms are expected to commence from 1 July 2016. Businesses will have two years from the commencement date to change labels to the new format. The main change to current requirements is that the labels for most food that is grown, produced or made in Australia will include a logo (kangaroo in a triangle symbol) to indicate that, as well as a bar chart and text statement to show the proportion of Australian ingredients.

Functional Food Safety can review your labelling systems and ensure that your labels comply. Contact us today for a free consultation.
